I find the most value in art’s intricate dance of creation. When I paint, every stroke is critical and calculated. While we often admire paintings for their seamless composition, my focus is on unraveling the meticulous mechanisms behind the scenes.
I take joy in highlighting the value of each brushstroke, showcasing its role in building the overall composition. Breaking down colors into their constituent parts, I layer tones and shades to construct a rich tapestry of hues that exudes authentic vibrancy. I use impasto medium to accentuate each stroke with a sculptural quality. As my work unfolds, it gains complexity with every passing moment of observation - new brushstrokes emerge, and fresh colors come to light. The entirety of the artistic process is encapsulated in its final form.
My subject matter is centered around youthful environments, activities, and crowds. In my exploration, the figures undergo a purposeful deconstruction, their form intricately woven into a patchwork of brushstrokes that dissolve the boundaries between self and surroundings. This approach serves to dismantle youth culture into its chaotic essence of uncertainty and vitality. It invites viewers to contemplate the complexities of early adulthood and explore how our surroundings shape our individuality.
